Sally Browning Pearson
society of watercolor artists
From the Studio of Sally Browning Pearson
I love teaching watercolor. I teach how to manage watercolors, as well as the elements and principals of design and composition.
My students appreciate the patience and humor I use when teaching, and they are impressed with their progress. This is especially true when we work on the various ways the medium of watercolor behaves. The skills and techniques learned in my classes stay with my students. They often express their wonder and joy of learning as they apply their new skills.
The joy I experience when teaching is in many ways a mirror of theirs. And, I am always pleased when my students succeed.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sally has been teaching adults for over 23 years.
Sally has taken workshops from several noted watercolor artists including Tony Couch, Don Andrews, Pat Weaver, Gerald Brommer, Skip Lawrence, the late Claude Croney, and several others.
Sally’s most significant teacher with whom she studied for two years is Eloise Gardner Giles. Eloise studied with Edgar Whitney, one of the most renowned watercolorist and watercolor teachers in the United States. Eloise graduated from Pratt Institute in New York City. Eloise taught Sally watercolor technique as well as the elements and principals of design and composition.
Her experience and success have provided Sally with the opportunity to lead workshops at the J. C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC and the Greenbrier Artist Group in Lewisburg, West Virginia.
Within the past three years, Sally’s success has put her on track to becoming a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society. Her interest is to continue expanding her teaching workshops as well as her classes in her Home Studio in Port St. Lucie, The Artist Nook in Stuart, Harbor Ridge in Palm City and Hidden Harbor in Port Salerno.
